Not a lot but here is the latest. The Proposal. Cute, but doesn't Sandra Bullock's face look a little stretched? Went at the wrong time and missed Julie and Julia. I'll try again. Finally started Rosemary and Thyme. I little slow but I think I will enjoy it. Watched a British cop show called ATouch of Frost. Na. Can't get into that one. Still enjoying Jonathan Creek.
Shows and stuff
Here is what I have seen lately. Katie, Raette and I saw Angels and Demons and I went with Sheldon and Emerson to see Terminater Salvation. I've watched a few Netflix things but only a few. I am watching My UncleSilas with Albert Finney. It is cute. "Whatever" on the other two movies.
I am just not in movie mode right now. I tried watching a Jesse Stone - Tom Selleck movie, but stopped it after about 30 minutes.
I have a ton of good stuff coming from Netflix in the coming weeks so maybe I will get back in the saddle. Good news on this front. There is a British show I have been trying to find forever and I didn't know what it was called. When I talked to Charlotte the other day she told me about a show she really like and it was the one I have been hunting for. Yea!!! Off to Netflix to put it in my Queue.
How well I spend my time.
Here is the update on what I have watched lately. The first season of Clatterford. (British sitcom) Thanks Charlotte. One episode of Clatterford has the funniest thing I have ever watched. Stacy and I had to watch it twice because we missed so much laughing the first time. Changeling with Ang. Jolie. One of the best movies I have ever seen but difficult subject matter. Rear Window with Jimmy Stewart. It was only so so. I am halfway through Cranford right now and enjoying it very much! I finished the season of Life. I hope it doesn't get too weird because I love this show. Caught up on The Office last night. What can I say! It makes my week!
Movie
The movie we went to Salt Lake for was Duplicity. It was OK. Don't much care for J. Roberts. Liked Clive Owens though.
Henry Poole
I watched Henry Poole is Here yesterday. It is so cute. I absolutely loved this one. I love that you can rent Redbox movies online. I hate that they have such a crappy selection though. But hey, no better way to watch new releases.
Australia the movie
I finally watched Australia. Boy, was it long. That Hugh Jackman, DARN! I would have stayed in Australia too. The other movie I watched was Fireproof. I thought this one was cheesy and had terrible acting. But, I am glad I made it through and finished it. It did have a nice message. Recommendations? Australia if you have a LOT of time. (Like when you break your leg or have a three week killer flu) Fireproof if you want a sappy, predictable, religious love story. (I am not saying that is bad, just know what you are getting in to)
Megaplex
I went to the movie yesterday. Confessions of a Shopaholic. Katie and I both liked it a lot. And of course I had my favorite theater popcorn (Megaplex) so I was really happy.
Movie News
Caught up on a couple movies I missed at the theater. Nick and Nora's Infinate Adventure and Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day. I think I would have liked Nick and Nora better if I was about 20 years old. I really enjoyed Miss Pettigrew though. Katie wanted to know what The Bird's was all about that I referred to in my vacation post so we also rented that. Haven't watched it yet though. I have been watching tv on the internet so I waste plenty of time there and haven't been watching very many movies. Haven't had time to go to the theater either.
Bad Back
While down and out with a bad back I caught up on some dvds. I finished my collection of the the Agatha Christie -Hercule Poirot movies. A+ list. Almost finished SherlockHolmes. (The complete series is 12 discs and about 43 hours) I have been working on this series for months. I watched A Beautiful Mind, which I enjoyed but not a watch multiple times movie. The one I really liked was The Legend of Bagger Vance. I don't know what took me so long to finally watch this treasure. Anyway, I am up and around now, I just can't carry anything or bend over very well.
One and a Half Stars.
I knew about the one and a half star rating for the mall cop show with Kevin James before I went. I would have been disappointed if I had expected more but since I didn't expect anything but a corny movie it was OK. The popcorn was delicious, which is what I really care about, and Emerson and I enjoyed ourselves.
Movie again
Katie and I went to see Doubt. I doubt I will ever need to see it again. Will I buy it? I doubt it. Thumbs up for the acting, but it seemed like a non story to me. There wasn't even anything to think about when it was over. I doubt you will want to see it.
another movie
I stayed up late last night and watched The Women with Meg Ryan. This one is ok if you have nothing better to do. What I have been enjoying is The Last Detective with Peter Davison. (British TV) This is a favorite.
More movies
Last night we went to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Katie liked it more than I did. It was cute, but I thought it was a bit strange for my liking. I enjoyed it once but once will be enough for me. I would say thumbs up to this one though.
My Movie Reviews
Yes Man - Went to this movie with Katie last week. Thumbs down for one dumb scene. Too bad because the rest was cute. I love Zooey Deschanel.
Four Christmases- Went to this movie New Year's Eve with Stacy. Thumbs up even though there were a few things not to like. Amusing enough to entertain my simple mind.
I work part time at a really great souvenir and jewelry shop. My husband and I have five bunnies. One lives in the house, the others are outside in large open pens where they can run around. We really like our buns.
Had a blast last night, but Katie already wrote about our movie madness. Here is a link to her blog. Can't say it any better than she did! http://katielyn2403.blogspot.com/
